A lot of people I follow in the book community only had good things to say about this book. I'm so glad I picked it up, it's definitely a gem in the historical romance genre.

I enjoyed Miranda and Sebastian. I love their time in London! The honest mistake in the opening chapter was both hilarious and sexy, and it captured my interest.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!!

This was cute.. buttttt even though I found myself really enjoying some parts, I found Miranda's obsession with Robert at the beginning really tiresome. I was over 40% in and she was still wanting him.
I loved Sebastian for the most part.. a stodgy "old" duke who could be playful and had a good heart.. but his insistence that he couldn't marry a lady who wasn't a Duchess got old fast. And he was all too wiling to ruin Miranda

Started off great until it wasn't great anymore.
It frustrated me that he kept thinking of her as a booty call. After they had their one night stand they had a conflict where she refused him when he invited her for a repeat. Then 2h later she was waiting for him at his place. I thought he was drunk hallucinating because it made no sense why did we have that conflict at all. She needed more backbone. Then in the morning when they got caught, she walked in on him telling his brothers he will never marry her. And her reaction is all surprised Pikachu face lmao. Girl he's been telling you the whole time he won't marry you and now you're surprised when he says it to his brothers? That actually baffled me.

Sebastian frustrated me to no end when he
refused to consider Miranda as his potential future duchess,
so the grovel felt a bit lacking.

3,5 stars, i guess
This has been a very forgettable read. Characters pining for the one they can't have... for over 200 pages...
SpoilerOnly to resolve the issue via inspirational talk with Mommy.
The characters were both meant to be intellectuals, but we got nothing other than fixing Shakespeare. There was a quality in tenderness with our hero, but i'm puzzled as to how the couple managed to build their intimacy, because, let me tell you, no meaningful conversations happened in the first 75% of the book. Spice started promising, but failed to deliver as things got more serious. All in all, not a terrible read, the characters were alright and reasonably believable, they just had nothing that would really stand out.

Look what just got put on my kindle!!!! ;) Thanks Netgalley and Grand Central!!!

Miranda a woman who knows who she wants. Or does she? Sebastian a Duke looking for a proper Duchess but who wants Miranda, the niece of his tenant farmer.

A tried and true trope, but with Ms. Harringtons' delightful spin on it! I couldn't put it down.
