The first 80% of the book was an easy 5 stars, but the ending was terrible and felt like an entirely different book.

Not the most suspenseful thriller I’ve ever read but it was written so well and I truly didn’t see the twists the plot would take

It took me 6 days to finish this pretty short novel.
The beginning was difficult the follow with the multiple storylines/perspectives. Once I got it, I got it. I didn’t have an “omg” moments.

I wanted more. These characters were supposed to be interesting and their development fell short for me. Also the ending felt unfinished for me. I am someone who likes answers and a lot of detail. I never got the “why” I was searching for in order for this to feel complete.

But speaking of details, I loved the setting of the main story. An isolated cabin and a snow storm are going to do it for me every time.

I'm struggling between rating 3 or 4 stars here. I liked the suspense, but it was almost too predictable in many ways. However, some things did surprise me.

The biggest issue I had with it was the back-and-forth of the events. I don't mind it occasionally, but I feel like it was overdone in this book. In a nutshell, Josie and Becky were playing when shots rang out, and things went terribly wrong after that.

Wiley is a true crime writer. And she is staying in a remote house to finish her current book. When a snowstorm hits, things go bad.

I'm rounding it up to 4 stars because I liked the book's overall vibe.

This was a fantastic read/listen. The author really knows how to keep the flow of the book going and lock you in to figure out what was happening. It definitely took me awhile to figure out what was happening and timeframes, and that is exactly what the author wanted. This was thrilling, exciting, heartbreaking, and vindicating. well worth the read! Go check it out!
