I normally love Dorothy Cannell's books. Her cozy mystery series featuring Ellie Haskell is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, this book is not in that same vein. I found the characters and situations too good to be true and the plot both depressing and too predictable. Sarah, after a bad divorce, finds herself drawn from Chicago to a little house in Sea Glass, Maine. There she meets neighbors with whom she feels strong connections. Everyone pulls together to help Oliver, a nine year old orphan for whom one bad thing after another keeps happening. I can't recommend this one.

Considering it was the source of the title, I would've liked the sea glass motif to be more prominent throughout rather than just referenced briefly at the beginning and end; plus, it didn't really tie into the actual events.
