While this wasn't bad, it wasn't good either, it was a disappointment. Basically, you could've written out, Guet Imm, who's supposed to be a main character out of this novella, and nothing would've changed.
Like I do not understand why she wanted to join and keeping being with the bandits in the story. It made little to no sense to me and it was never explained.
Oh also, this book just felt like a traveling story with info-dumping along the way. And it's not that it wasn't interesting, it's just that it never went anywhere.
And then the ending felt so underwhelming, like that's the climax of the book? To me, it felt like the book stopped right before the climax of the book was supposed to begin.
I get that this is a novella, but this needed to be 100-pages longer to really flesh everything out.

I didn't know what to expect as I was reading this. I knew nothing about the story before I went into it so it was fun to watch the story unfold. We're placed in a magical realism world, during a time of conflict. A nun of the order of the pure moon joins a group of bandits on a mission and things don't go quite as planned.
It's beautifully written, and although it didn't feel like it had a super obvious goal at first it was really fun to just figure out what was happening as it happened. I loved the characters, I love learning about the world and I really enjoyed the ending.

Really wonderful novella that felt fully actualized despite the short length. Great world-building and just enough plot to make the novella work without feeling like it was a bite-size distillation of something longer.
