This book was amazing! I loved it from start to finish. I find this series to be that just gets better with every book, this series is growing to become one of my all time favorites.
Everything about this book was fantastic, from the twist and turns, to the deception and romance this book was amazing.
I need the next book in my hand right now, I can't believe I have to wait a year before I can finally continue on with this series.
All in all this was just such an amazing book, if you haven't check this series out yet I highly recommend you do.

The angst... the sprinkle of gay....... the unashamed killing of important characters.... the political intrigue....... the pregnancies out of nowhere... the bromances...... the failure to make half of the characters be like fire lord Zuko........ *chef kiss*

“Because if you don’t choose to fight against the wrong in the world, then you are the wrong in the world.”

WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED

Spoiler so here's the thing when Amara's grandmother talks about how she went to her apothecary and the last person he saw was Prince Ashur. And she also talks about how Amara survived drowning in childhood...she didn't really survive, her mom gave purchased something magical that would bring her back from dead. While reading this I suspected Ashur was alive but then Nic talked about how improper his burial was considering he was a royal. But now he is alive.I absolutely hate the bring back from dead/not really dead trope. So I don't know how I feel.

If this isn't prince Ashur alive I don't know what is

SO basically I don't know anything.

I am frustrated and in agony and it's all thanks to Rhodes.

description

And I'm not fancasting anymore cause let's be honest unless you the main 4 characters, there are high chances of your death.

Unfortunately for me the character that I do wish dies; probably won't cause she's a main character. Lucia is such a boring and dry character. A cardboard piece is more alive than her. I would like these books 10 times better if she were to stop existing in all of them. I had high hopes for her in the last book; but she can't even be properly evil.

description

In this book; she's with the freed Fire Kindred; Kyan. And he seems pretty cool in the start and says stuff like

“You say that as if this isn’t a miracle contained within a wooden bowl. This is sustenance that feeds both the body and the soul. Mortals could live off unseasoned meat and plucked grass and yet they choose to make concoctions that smell and taste divine. If only they applied their minds to everything in this manner, rather than wasting their time squabbling about mundane topics and killing each other for petty reasons.”

description

But then he's pretty much reduced to a puny and whiny God just without any self restraint. He had so much potential and it was all a waste.

description

Also Magneo happened finally and there were sparks! And no Cleo don't make him stop calling you princess; I like the petty way he says that.

I love how Magnus has grown. Out of all the characters; he's matured and changed the most and he's come such a long way. And i really need to edit my review cause I love all fancasts; the Magnus I chose is not the Magnus in my head anymore; I honestly did not like him in that first book.

Cleo. Omg she's such a strong character. She's so good at spontaneously making things up. Also when she knocks out Amara.
