Short and sweet, Fairly straightforward plot, but some parts had me laughing out loud.

OVERALL:3.75/5
PLOT:3.5/5
CHARACTERS:4/5
HUMOUR:4/5 (It's a very distinctive brand of humour)
ROMANCE:1/5
WRITING STYLE:4.5/5
WARNINGS: None

My first Wodehouse and I enjoyed it. The style is great, though it took me a while to 'get' it once I had it was brilliant. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Not the best book to end the series with — Tie That Binds/Much Obliged is much more of a series finale
even without the ending marriage.
I get why the tv show would end with that. Still classic Bert n Reggie though, the ending
where Jeeves comes in as a white knight in shining armor to save his Bertie tied up in distress, then basically gaslights Plank
is fun. It does feel like a rehash of other stories though
- Vanessa and Orlo are just Florence and Stilton again, Mr Cook is just Sir Watkyn Bassett again. I did enjoy that the plot revolves around Bertie trying to return a stolen object rather than steal it this time though, that’s a fun twist.

It is kind of odd how often Bertie mentions how often he’s proposed/fallen in love with other women — dude you’ve fallen in love with like five at the most (Florence Craye, Bobbie Wickham, Aline Hemingway in Aunt Agatha Takes the Count, Pauline Stoker, and now Vanessa Cook), that’s not so much that you’d be used to bumping into an ex every time you go out, unless England is much smaller than I realized. Just a weird retcon-y throughline. (Actually, now that I think about it he does seem to bump into an ex every time he goes out. They’re just usually the same exes.)

With that I’m finished with the OG Wodehouse Jeeves stories. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with myself now. Jeeves and Bertie I miss you already :’(

An exercise and delight in prose; Wooster and Jeeves do it again.
