I'm in love with Davis as an author. The previous series starring Kira was a fun read, but in this series the author I really love shines through much more clearly and I'm constantly very excited to pick up the next book and to continue the journey. I especially love how Davis used the Greek myths as inspiration but did entirely her own thing with it. And I really love how we're slowly getting more and more information and answers.

What I love about this series and these books is how it's all about the characters, their emotions and their choices. Yes, there's also a lot happening, there are some fights, there are some hard moments and the characters for sure don't get anything on a silver platter, but there's no action for the sake of action. The characters determine the direction of the plot, the characters are in control of how fast the plot moves forward.

In this book we once more get answers. We already learned about the what and why in the previous book, but in this book we learn a lot more about the technical details. And although that's a lot of information, it never felt like Davis dumped a lot of information on our heads. We discovered everything with the heroine, through her eyes. It therefore felt natural and realistic and we therefore also got the chance to guess along.

I also really enjoyed the finale of the book, especially because we all feel and know that it's only a little taste of what's to come in the final book in the series. Normally I always read another book in between two books by the same author, but it's gonna be very hard to keep up with that this time. Something truly epic is coming, something violent and hard and emotional. I really can't wait to dive into it and read it.

When you fall for the devil, you're bound to get burned.

Pandora Scott's world has blown up once again, but this time she's learned her lesson--saving the world isn't a job she can do solo. She needs friends. But when her strongest ally also happens to be the boy who shattered her heart, it's not as easy as it sounds. Especially since the person she has to destroy might just be the love of her life. With her fate hanging in the balance, Pandora's got to make a choice. Forgive? Forget? Fight? Or falter? But everything changes when she realizes that the people she thought were heroes might be villains, and the good guys aren't always as trustworthy as they seem...

Fracture is the third book in the thrilling Midnight Ice series--the brand new spinoff to Midnight Fire, a bestselling paranormal romance with over 200,000 copies sold and over 5000 5-star reviews on Goodreads!

Rating: 5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: HOLY FLIPPERS I CANNOT EVEN WITH THAT ENDING; I'm probably just going to screech at you for this entire review, okay?; I cannot deal, I cannot deal, my heart hurts and I absolutely cannot deal; someone, quick, give me book four

Huge thanks to Kaitlyn Davis for (making my little Penguin heart SUPER HAPPY) sending me a free egalley of this title in exchange for an honest review! This in no way altered my read of or opinions on this book.

Two angels could not conceive a healthy child, no matter how many times they tried, no matter how close they got. It was what had driven him mad, what had turned him into the beast he'd become, a creature of hatred and vengeance and guilt, no longer a dreamer full of love, but the bringer of nightmares.

He could not have children, so he made monsters instead.

And I'm sorry, Penguin readers, if you've come here hoping for any semblance of coherency. The truth is, I've been enthralled with this journey from the very first word on the very first page of the very first (or, well, seeing as this is a spin-off I suppose not the VERY first but you know what I mean) book......and it just keeps getting better with each installment! I just cannot even comprehend how Kaitlyn Davis continues to surprise me with every turn; each time I think I know exactly where she's headed, she suddenly changes course and leaves me reeling, and I cannot EVEN begin to explain how much I adore that about her books!

While these characters are fighting to find their way home and to themselves, I was watching, enraptured. The sheer turn-around of my feelings for several of the characters, in fact, was almost a 180 from the way I left the first book. I'm SO completely torn, actually--Kaitlyn Davis has a nasty (and beautiful) habit of making her readers empathize with and feel for every character, even the ones they shouldn't try to redeem. And perhaps there's a reason for this--a very large portion of this book series is spent lurking in shadows, so there's a bit of play happening with all areas gray and shady. Which, honestly, is brilliantly handled in my opinion--with all the devious twists and turns the plot line takes, readers can never be FULLY sure that any of these characters are trust-worthy, lovable, or how they pass themselves off to be. Half the time, readers can't even be sure our MC is reliable--which causes a beautiful amount of second-guessing and deceptive reasoning!

"Samael," she whispered, voice hoarse. "Don't make this harder than it has to be."

"You've come to kill me, darling," he retorted with a grin. "Was it supposed to be easy?"

The plot, even three books in, remains thickly-padded and FILLED with tension. If my cup runneth over, Penguins, it runneth over with action and adventure--every moment is a race toward an ending that is, looking in knowing what's happened so far, bound to be absolutely explosive--and I am SO READY, and yet SO NOT at the same time! Despite this, Kaitlyn Davis knows how to weave a story and make it both tangible and abstract--she ties together loose ends even as she's weaving another dozen mysterious rows, and I absolutely adore how obvious it is that she LOVES this world and these characters. She puts a ton of time and love into crafting journeys that readers WANT to chase after--and leaves them coming back for more!

I just... Gahhhh, I need the next book, and I need it like two weeks ago! My poor Penguin heart is all aflutter with the crashing ending I just read, and I cannot even begin to calm the hype in my nerves right now! These characters are dynamic, complex, and so freaking squishable I wish I could reach between the pages with more than my heart. The plot is tragic and gorgeous at turn, and woven with impressive thoroughness. I definitely recommend to lovers of paranormal fantasy, mysterious characters, and a TON of gray space. Stick to the shadows like glue, Penguin friends--there are bigger secrets left to unveil!

These books have made me insatiable. Just when you think it is over, it gets worse. I am so attached to the characters I am taking each struggle with them. Now they are up for the biggeat challenge yet. I am stuck at the point of I want to know and this is going to suck.

FRACTURE BLOG TOUR 3rd October 2017

BookPolar REVIEWS

Fracture picked off roughly where Freeze left off, Jax and Dory were trying to work their many many issues, whilst hiding out in the conduit. I really enjoyed the conduit as a setting and am glad we spent the majority of the book there. After so much tension and suspicion, the conduit residents provided great comedic relief, and after Pandora has spent so much time alone, it was great to see her with a brilliant support network around her.
I love that we had much more interaction between Jax and Dory in Fracture than ever before, we had a really great insight into their relationship and got to know Jax a lot more, so much so that I think my feelings about him may be changing... slightly. Throwing my feelings about Sam into turmoil.
With some questions about Sam answered, we are now faced with more pressing matters and mysteries surrounding the Titans.
More importantly that ending... wow!!
Pandora is about to faced with a threat she doesn't know exists. I am desperate to know how she gets out of this tangle.
BRING ON BOOK 4!!
