This collection of poetry is short. Many of the poems are no longer than a couple of sentences. However, Gibson manages to fill each word with maximum impact. As a cisgender straight male, the poems are often in a world quite different from my own experiences. Yet, they show a humanity within them that anyone can relate to. Whether dealing with love, politics, or a combination of the two, Take Me With You is inspiring and thought provoking. I have seen Andrea Gibson perform live, and they are a powerhouse of emotion; filled with rage and love. This collection is a smaller piece of who they are, but worthwhile all the same.

It pains my heart to give this one star because Andrea Gibson is one of those memorable performers on Button Poetry that I love. A lot of their performances really sent shivers down my spine, so I really started this book with high expectations.
Unfortunately, I didn't like this. I HATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS STYLED LIKE THIS, and I get that poetry is totally subjective but most of this were just quotes TBH. I didn't like any of the poems here, none were really all that memorable and those that were were for all the wrong reasons.

I am sorry that they went through this horrible experiences, and I am amazed for their convictions, beliefs, and hopes even through all that, but sadly, this just wasn't something I adored.
