I came across this book because I fell in love with Adam Oehler's illustrations for a poetry chapbook I was reviewing (Cinderella Jump Rope Rhymes, in case you are interested). I stumbled across this book and had to have it for my 5 year old son. Ok, it was more for me, but I knew he'd like it too!

Celeste's family moves house and she is lonely and bored at her new school and in her new neighborhood. She turns to listening to music and does so after school every day. One day she closes her eyes and starts to dance and discovers herself transported to a magical world where she can help animals heal and plants to grow just by directing her thoughts through her hands. The world becomes increasingly colorful and beautiful because of her.

Then Nick decides to sit near her at lunch and they become friends after a while. Celeste invites him to come home with her and she introduces him to her magical world where they discover they have even more power when they work together. They decide to help the people of their community to realize their potential for creating by working in collaboration and it's a huge success.
