The Will to Battle by Ada Palmer

I genuinely believe Ada Palmer to be one of the most visionary authors of our generation, and it's a shame this series is so little known. Fantastic prose, beautiful world and characters. While it is a shame she gets a bit lost in philosophical proselytism and fourth-wall breaking, it somehow comes across as natural meandering from the slowly deteriorating Mycroft, and does make in-universe sense.

Es gibt ein Zitat von Gene Wolfe, das auf alle bisher erschienenen Bände von Terra Ignota angewendet werden kann:

“My definition of good literature is that which can be read by an educated reader, and reread with increased pleasure.”

Disjointed, without a plot, full of characters I either don't care about or actively hate. If I wanted to read philosophical texts, I would pick them to read.

This is such a hard series for me to rate. One of the most interesting things I've read, but no stickiness that compels me to keep reading it and I'm not sure I would recommend it to someone else. After three books, it seems like we're finally ready for all hell to break loose in the fourth (and final?) book.
