This a series of one page horror stories with little one or two sentences describing the image. These are based off his animated work that he publishes on a website and decided to combine into a novel. The images are very well done and the little descriptions with them match perfectly. Since each image only has one description you kinda get to image the rest of the story which makes this novel very interesting

I picked the wrong book to read before bed. Beautiful Illustrated horror flash fiction. Haunting images with a sentence or less accompanying them. The images, like the recent Haunting of Hill House tv series and its hidden ghosts, demand a long pause and careful consideration as they often have hidden terrors. Most of the stories/illustrations were creepy or spooky and like any collection, yes, there was a dud or two, but overall a wonderful collection

Look. It's just a series of pictures with, like, a sentence next to them. Three of the pictures kinda expand on a concept, but not really. It's not scary. I found the art boring. There was a couple of cool concepts, but that's it. I really don't recommend this one.

Gorgeous, creepy illustrations…each with a line or two of companion text.

Awesome, creepy art! I love the microfiction. You can take these microfiction sentences and create your own backstory for how the characters got there or go forward and see where they will go from there.

I love picking up recommended books at our library. I also had this on my TBR. This was a great collection of comics like Far-side. One picture tells the whole story. It reminded me a whole lot of Edward Gorey in many ways.

These are a set of creepy stories of a character doing something and not realizing that something or someone is behind them. Joe Hill does an nice introduction here and there is one picture paying homage to his Locke & Key series. I loved seeing that.

The artwork was lovely and I wholly enjoyed reading this book. It sets a wonderful tone and spreads the creepy while you read it. I'm so glad I found this.

These eerie vignettes focus on the tense anticipation of the horror genre - the things that lurk behind us, in the dark, just beyond our line of sight. Creepy illustrations with a brief line or two let your imagination tell the story.
