Meh.

I’m flipping through this volume a few days after reading it for the review purposes and all I’m getting is mehhh. Drama happens. Some new characters are introduced. That’s great and all, but I don’t care?

Everything was introduced either super blandly or with so much drama that I just overlooked it.

I did learn some stuff about creating stories and characters that I wouldn’t have even considered had it not been in this book. **Slight spoilers, but I’ll be vague.**

This talks about reusing characters that you created for older stories. A lot of the time authors have to stop writing a story because of many reasons, one of which being that the story is what they’re going for. But previously they had created a nice little cast of characters, some more defined than the others. What Bakuman told me was to use those characters in a new story you are using with some slight tweaking. This tactic also can go for stories. **end of potential spoilers**

I had never even considered going back to my older stories (cause they’re so badly done) before this. I’m going to give it a shot and see if this idea will work. I strongly suspect that it will, though.

Also, I finally figured out why this art looks so strange to me, in side-by-side comparison to Deathnote. Its the eyes. The eyes are drawn so strangely. I think they’re trying to draw eyes so it looks more chibi or stereotypically anime but it’s not working with their art style. Their drawings are the best in their Deathnote art style, which this one is nearly is. But I’m just picky. A lot of people will be able to overlook this.

Oh my God, Eiji is such a weirdo hahahaha! God he reminds me of .. me, but I'm more reeled in , if you know what I mean.. He must have ADD or something.. I always like to jump and say 'Asperger's' if a character is 1) not very social 2) a little loopy 3) weird quirks (hand flapping, obsession with his things .. like not being touched or handled without permission ) .. but seriously, this guy is something else .. Love this series!
