Enjoyed this book way more than I thought! I really loved and admired the two main characters and I was rooting for them throughout the entire book. There was a little too much religion talk for me to give this a full 5 stars but besides that I would recommend to anyone who likes medical drama storylines that relate to current events in the world.

This book was so good! I think it was made just for me because all the things ppl seemed to not like, I loved??? Everyone said that they thought Mark was unnecessary, and like you could argue that he was, but I loved him???? Like, do you know how good of a writer you have to be to make like a HETEROSEXUAL MAN?? A RICH heterosexual man? Yeah, he’s in my pocket. Same with Edwin. Did Jonah need a bodyguard, narratively speaking? No.
Is it advisable for them to end up together? Probably not.
But Edwin? Also in my pocket.
Honestly I loved all the characters (except for, yeah know, everybody else). I loved Dobby. He was the goodest boy and all he did was be there and be happy. I loved Darby (who coincidentally has the same name as my therapist!). She was literally the definition of a southern Christian bell mother, but also not a bigot!!! And the way she swooped in at the end with that small victory? Go her!
This book also made me cry, for no reason. I’ll literally just be minding my business, just reading, and Kimmery Martin will walk up and slap me across the face and say, bitch, we’re sad now! And you know what? I balled like a baby each time. Mr. Fogelman? Tears. Everytime he was mentioned. In the hospital. Him doting over wife,
  HIM DYING.
I was a mess. Everytime. Freida Myers?? Oh dear god, that hit different. The idea of an elderly trans woman being in the closet for so long just to cone out and then be mistreated BY THE FUCKING MEDICAL SYSTEM?? Jesus
The part where she saved all the clothes that Jonah complimented in a box and then gave them to him after she died??? No that was too much, I had to take a ten minute breather.

Yeah, this book was great. The plot was noce, the characters were lovable, and the writing was actually good!!!’ Great job miss Martin. Highly Recommend.
