I enjoyed this book not as much as Make it Sweet by the same author. I appreciated that the bullying from childhood was not glossed over and it was addressed and worked through. The sister in this book did not pay enough for her behavior, I could not imagine my sibling hurting me the way that her sister did.

childishness. pettiness. craziness. This book almost all about Sam. Sam this. Sam that. They all took the fall for her. Instead of letting her face the repercussion of her action, they're tolerating her. So irritating🙄

This is a very unhealthy relationship, but damn is it cute. Throughly engaging read, full of snark, with a romantic HEA. I liked that the book didn’t end with everything being roses though, while the romance ended beautifully there was enough animosity with plot points for some semblance of realism.

CW: flashbacks of childhood bullying and social humiliation, anti-fatness, mentions of stalking, discussion of past child abuse, and manipulative/toxic family dynamics.

I never thought I’d like a Bully Romance and yet here we are. The set up of the story was a little contrived, but the characters were so compelling and flawed in a realistic and fascinating way. I loved watching them work through their complicated past. The sexual tension was electric, and the pay off is worth the wait. This author is quickly becoming a personal fave.

I highly recommend this to fans of contemporary romance with fat heroines and vulnerable men striving to redeem themselves.
