I realized I had read it previously and that the book did not deserve a second reading.

Okay, so I don't normally write reviews, BUT...

Finally, a book where there's a young adult female character who's character doesn't go along with an outrageous scenario like I have seen in other books! Arianna's scenario isn't relatable in terms of the fictional setting, but her thought process of going through this process is 100% relatable for me (I wouldn't be "okay" with being chucked into the middle of a world I thought was previously fiction, unlike most characters in paranormal books I've read)!
Not only this, but it's a breath of fresh air from authors that try and portray their female MCs as strong but the MC doesn't do anything badass or strong at all in the books, and is still displayed as the weaker character throughout. Arianna proved her strength to me several times, and it made me love her, and this book, a little more!

The book was a little slow to start out with, but I think it was necessary to the storyline, like how Game of Thrones or The Walling Dead might be slow at times, but by the end of this book I just wanted to binge read the whole series to get the answers I developed! Would definitely recommend this book to people looking for a different kind of paranormal romance/action book!

Of course I would have loved to dive into the next Zodiac Academy Book this weekend. I'm addicted to that series. However, I also know that I needed a calm weekend. Both physically and emotionally. And Zodiac Academy is everything but calm. However, I found this book on the shelves and I saw it had an easy to read font and I assumed it wouldn't be an intense big story. So, I decided to just give it a try and to dive in.

In a way this book is exactly what I had wanted and in a way I had hoped it would have been more entertaining. It was easy to read, it was not really heavy, there were no really big emotions and even the romance wasn't that intense. I just think that this book could have been a lot better if the pacing had been a little better. I think this book went incredibly fast. Everything happened incredibly fast and therefore there wasn't any time for us to really become part of it.

The part in our world, the building up towards the moment our heroine would have to leave her normal life behind, was actually the most interesting part of the series. I like how the change was introduced slowly. How the change started with some encounters with strangers, with some brief conversations, with some throwaway lines. I also liked that we got such a good impression of the life our heroine had.

However, the part in the demon world lost my interest quite quickly. It might have been partly my mood, but we met a lot of people in a very short time so it was hard to really build a connection with the characters we meet. There is supposed to be a romance, but the moments the heroine and her hero spent together were too brief and really lacked depth and I never really felt a special connection between these two.

It's a nice and quick read, but not interesting enough for me to read the rest of the series.

Ekkk!! I think I have found my next obsession! I’m so in love with these characters and all the unknowns! Vampire girl is just what I need to pull me out of my funk. It’s loaded with action and suspense! I can’t wait to dig in to the next book!

I bought this book because it had been nominated for Goodreads choice best romance and I was intrigued. This books just wasn't for me. It was much more focused on plot than characterization, and the writing itself felt like it was written for very young adults.
The main character got on my nerves but I've seen a lot worse in ya fiction. The rest of the characters were unremarkable at best.
There's a lot of mixed mythology in this book. It's twilight with demons instead of vampires that go to an alternate dimension that is hell. But hell is really nice. And the fae are there and the fae are the bad guys. And the hell dimension is behind the times in technology. And I think there's a political plot in there somewhere between the seven princes of hell, who the main character must all date and choose between to become the princess of hell.
This book has a lot going on.
I almost dnf it but kept with it to see where the plot was going. It was predictable and ends on a cliffhanger. I won't be continuing this series. I recommend borrowing before buying to see if you like the writing style.

This a new one for me. We have 7 demon princes of Hell that coincides with the seven deadly sins. What got to me was that these are Demons who also drink blood like Vampires?! Once I got over that bit I couldn't stop reading it! There are many twists and turns within the story. It is very fast paced. I like Arianna, she was very sassy, smart-mouthed, and strong. I cant wait to see what happens in the next one.

I have to say, I'm getting a touch frustrated with going against the flow. Yet again, another highly rated book that everyone's raving about and all I can get myself to feel about it is "meh". It's not even a bad book, but it's not as fleshed out as it could be. It constantly seems like one scene rushes to another without necessarily connecting in a fluid way.
SpoilerLet's take, for example, conveying the information about the previous ruler's demise. Arianna gets to stay with Fen as a pretext for his investigation into the father's death. Or maybe it's the other way around? The investigation is an excuse for her to stay with him. Nevermind that he was saying just minutes before that he couldn't care less for the girl.

Then we meet the Prince of Gluttony, because Arianna was hungry, mind. Only the dear princeling was an excuse to tell us a bit more about how the father died. Would they still have gone if she hadn't been hungry? That scene seemed forced to me.

Do I have to also say that I wasn't entirely sure what the scene with the wood-cutters was all about? Was it supposed to add angst? This is advertised as a new age Twilight. I don't know about you, but I sort of enjoyed Twilight. This makes me wonder if my enjoyment is simply because I brushed over the bad bits. Or maybe because it was my first time round seeing the tropes of the genre? Couldn't tell you.

Mayhap it works better for a younger audience, or for people who are just getting started with the genre. I feel really bad, because I wanted to like this, but I just couldn't make myself get into it. Fen didn't appeal to me to start with, and he didn't get better with time. On Arianna I can't even get myself to comment. I think my favourite character was the wolf. Better luck to everyone else.

Good

It was interesting but they rushed too much. The beginning was a hot mess and I wish we would have had more time to digest what was going on. They went way too fast and it made it cheesy and reminded me a lot of The Shadowhunters series, which isn't very original. However, got better as it went on. Worth the time but I pray they don't drag on the series.

I really like the book and the story line but there is a couple things that I don't like such as, the vampire thing. Like I Feel like demons were a much better story line without adding the stupid vampire plot. The other thing is I really dislike Fen, I don't know what it is about him but I really just don't like him. I just feel like it was way too easy for her to fall in love with him, not to mention he literally has done nothing but hid things from her. I really like Asher's character I don't know I guess we will see how this turns.
