This was entertaining, and I enjoyed the family dynamics of the werewolf family. There's nothing new under the sun, here, though, though I probably perceive it that way because this is an older urban fantasy series. Something about Vicki and Henry's "romance" makes me cringe, and I can't quite pinpoint why. It may boil down to the fact that they don't seem to have and emotional or intellectual connection l, just boring (to me) blood-aphrodisiac lust.

This was quite good. It took me some time to finish it, but I was still hooked pretty fast. The story had a great development. I still don't like Celluci at all. I also liked how the author introduced the werewolves in this story. I would also understand the zealot Christian, at least up to a point! Can't wait for the next book.

I think this second book is in someways stronger than the first - a solid mystery that is well paced, with good tension, much less cliched than the first. The character development was strong - particularly the were family who had distinct personalities, instead of being treated as a byproduct of the plot.
Again, there is interesting tension and subplot between the triangle of Henry, Mike and Victoria.
An entertaining read, I'd recommend.

This second book was probably my fave out of them all. There were just so many characters to get involved with and care about. To me there seemed to be more mystery in this one and I loved that.

Tanya Huff always seems to hit her stride with me in the second book of her series.

Blood Trail plucks Henry, Mike, and Vicki out of bustling Toronto and puts them in the country to solve the murders of several werewolves. Unlike the previous book, Blood Price, you don't know who the killer is exactly until about halfway through the book (though it's not much of a surprise). The pacing is quick and enjoyable.

I really like how Huff portrayed werewolves in this book. They can change at will, follow a pretty strict order of pack dynamics, and really don't like being in the city. It felt fresh compared to the more common werewolf interpretations.

There wasn't a lot of character development for Henry, Vicki or Mike though, the werewolf family really stole the show with this one.

I am still looking forward to the next one!

I think this is one of the best in the series, because of the expansion of the world building and the way Detective Celluci is forced into accepting the supernatural, outside-the-law elements.
