This was a cute novella! I only wish Reggie and Gus’s story was a full length novel!

An entertaining novella in the Reluctant royals series featuring Reggie, a neurodiverse Black woman with a wheel chair. I loved all the nerdy vibes in this book! Reggie and Gus meet online anonymously and end up meeting IRL when they make a mutually beneficial work arrangement. Reggie runs an online web community and is big into anime among other things. Gus is an Asian American neurodiverse man who loves puzzles and is designing an escape room. A great interracial romance with solid disability and neurodiversity rep! Great on audio too.

Quick novella with disability rep that I cannot judge because I do not have a history with the disability but it felt like a good representation to me. The FMC is a kick ass female who doesn't let what has happened in the past define her for who she is yet knows her limitations. The MMC is also not a stereotypical male either, he has his own struggles yet also is not a flat character. This novella also represents nerd culture in a great way, that is not overwhelming or talking down to the reader!

When I was planning my Romanceathon TBR, I had thought of reading Can’t Escape Love since I loved Once Ghosted, Twice Shy so much and I really wanted to get back into the Reluctant Royals series, but while it ended up not working out for that specific readathon, it was there to save the day for the Summerathon reading a book with food on the cover challenge. I’m so glad that I was able to read it after all because I absolutely loved Can’t Escape Love! The first two books are the only ones in the series that I haven’t read, but Gus and Reggie’s story is truly my favorite so far — it’s just so wonderful and sweet, I could not get enough of this couple!

I live for Gus and Reggie as a couple, but I adore them on their own. They’re so smart and nerdy and just great human beings. Reggie is so independent, fierce, and strong with a bit of a marshmallowy core, but I do have to say that Gus was my favorite. Seriously, I love that man so much, you don’t even know! He’s the sweetest guy ever, so thoughtful, and I love that he’s completely open and honest and just says what he’s feeling — I loved it, I loved it, I loved it! Plus, my man is heavily into puzzles and puzzles are my jam, so even if he didn’t have all those other things going for him, I would still be a goner for him based on that alone. Reggie and Gus are the bomb and I don’t know how many Reluctant Royals books we’ll get, but I’m sure that these two will always hold a top spot with me!

Can’t Escape Love was very fun to read and so relatable as both a puzzle lover and fangirl. It had me grinning from ear to ear, waggling my eyebrows when Reggie and Gus were getting their flirt on, and I laughed a lot. It was heartwarming and lovely and I enjoyed it immensely!
