“I want to make a few things clear.” Christian’s lips brushed mine with each word. “Touch another man, he dies. Let another man touch you, he dies. Tell me I can’t touch you…” His grip tightened on the back of my neck as his voice dropped. “And I will fucking die.”

Tropes/Themes:
-MF dark contemporary romance
-Morally grey hero (touch her and literally die vibes)
-Pining hero
-Fake dating
-Forced proximity (roommates)
-Slow burn

I’M SO SAD THIS SERIES IS OVER!! I already can’t wait for the spin-off series to come out! I’m not sure if this edges out book 2 as my favorite in the series, but Christian definitely takes the crown as my new favorite hero. I’m always a sucker for a pining hero but also make him morally grey and I’m DONE. My only complaint is that this could have been like 100 pages shorter. Given how long this was, it felt like parts of the plot were a little drawn out while other plot points resolved way too quickly.

Also, probably my favorite quote of the book:
"I guess that was what happened when girls with a need for academic validation grew up. They developed a praise kink.
