Many machinations going on here. Very exciting to see the Nation and it's politics a bit here. More of the same in characterization weirdness, but it feels like they've leaned into it so it's maybe less jarring. Or I've admitted defeat subconsciously and I don't notice anymore... I'm hoping the pace picks up a little for the next few as this book moves from primarily subtle(ish) plotting with a side of outright violence, to outright violence with a side of collusion. We'll see how it goes.

Goddamn, this is some good and heavily imaginative shit, yo! Hickman is incredible in laying out his story and moving plots forward while filling in narrative back-story, and Dragotta just keeps getting better every issue! Love this series!

Still going at a steady pace, and I'm still waiting for the big climax. This whole series is such an interesting read. I love it.

Loving this. Why do trades take so long to come out?

I'm officially lost. The art is wonderful, and I like the characters when I can keep tabs on them, but at this point I can't read the series without a chart. There are so many nations and characters and crisscrossing allegiances and betrayals that I have absolutely no idea what's going on anymore - and I've been reading this in trade. How anyone keeps any of this straight in series is beyond me. I'll come back to this when it wraps up, but I honestly can't recommend that anyone pick it up until then. It's just too convoluted.

The leader of the Mao is my favorite, she’s strong. This is not the type of story you can skim or wait a long time between reading issues, which is something I’m partially guilty of myself. The story is gruesome and bloody. But there are still some beautiful illustrations thrown in and I still find myself wanting to finish it, curious what will finally happen.
