A cute and funny story. Desi uses Korean drama to find tips to fix her nonexistent love life. This leads to several hilarious moments.

I believed, and still believe, that you can build your dreams brick by brick. That you can accomplish anything with persistence. Even falling in love. - Desi Lee

“Real love: It was all about risk and having faith. There were no guarantees.”

A book that's all about K-dramas? Obviously I had to read this, and I'm really happy to say that it was beyond adorable, with just enough turmoil to pull at anyone's heartstrings. Plus I got a bunch of new series to look forward to watching in the future.

I actually really liked Desi too. She obviously does some crazy stuff in this story, but she's 100% aware that it's weird, and she even ends up paying for it in the end. The male lead, Luca, had me on the fence about his character at first, but as time went on he just became more and more sweet and endearing. My heart really went out to him and the stuff he went through.

After reading this, I'm really excited to pick up more by Maurene Goo (especially her newest book about K-pop!).

Maybe I read this at a wrong time? Not my kind of romantic dynamic. Nope. Only made it until page 63.

4.7 stars. I really loved this book. I picked it up because it reminded me of the "To All the Boy's I've Loved Before" series and it didn't disappoint. It a feel good book and it's something to read when you're in the mood for a nice happy summer romance contemporary. For me it was something refreshing after binging a whole fantasy series. Unexpected things had me burst out laughing at the ridiculousness and I just liked the whole concept of the story and the characters. I thought the characters had very distinct personalities and I appreciated the realistic attraction between characters instead of insta-love. I don't see many books in YA with Asian American main characters that I can relate to, but I'm glad I met Desi and got to know her. The whole concept of k-dramas was a fun aspect of modern culture to explore and I really enjoyed this read. I think Ill revisit it in the future.
