This books has way to many POVs. Everything felt too dragged out and the book felt way too long. In general the concept was interesting, but I lost interest due to the slow pace.

Purely amazing! It has many storylines and povs which in other books sometimes feel uneven or confusing, but here even if you don’t like all of them all the time, everyone is perfectly written and makes you want to keep reading. The storylines don’t all converge in this book, leaving plenty of mystery and a hunger for more. It’s got impecable world building, sentient serpents a bit like dragons hmm, mystery, interesting magic, strong complex female characters, pirates, and even a love subplot.

The plot goes to some dark places and I’m anxious to find out what happens to all the characters. I was dreading certain plot points but the things that happened before that event were so much worse! I find myself thinking “if only!” a lot. Loved the characters, loved the book.
