This book is poetry in motion, and I’m spellbound by the way it handles language and art and combines them to create something magical! I’m always a sucker for a good anthology or essay collection, but when you add in poetry and a healthy dose of mysticism and Craft, I’m all in. I will be recommending this one to all my witchy and writerly friends alike, because it doesn’t matter what your spiritual background is, this is one resource that will never be a miss!

Thank you to NetGalley, North Atlantic Books, and the authors for this eARC.
Poetry as Spellcasting is a wonderful collection of poetry, essays, writing and other types of prompts. It focuses on collective energies and common beauties we can find within ourselves, and connecting to nature without putting our human experiences and needs first, but rather searching for how we can contribute to the world around us and through that, gain insight and knowledge. It's a great book for taking a step back and just listening to what the authors are trying to tell us.
However, I did find it a relatively hard read. It took me a long time and I needed to take a lot of time to try and understand a lot of it's components, which seems counterintuitive to the idea of it. I would prefer to see more poetry and prompts.

I loved this. Checked it out from the library but I’ll have to buy it now!

Too many books open at once, and I hadn't come back to this one in a while. I'll check it out again when I circle back to poetry, but I have other projects I need to focus on for a while.
