Easy to read book. Good read although I wish the wife had been a little more gutsy! The other woman was easy to hate. She was totally blazen! The husband ....ugh...

Thought this was supposed to be a funny/campy book, so I was unprepared for it to be as serious as it was and kinda disappointed that it was as heavy as it was. I guess I had a hard time enjoying the humor that was in there because I found it hard to laugh about the marriage/job losses & the stuff going on with the kids and the visits to the past. I was kinda annoyed about the appearance of Hal too, quite frankly. Kinda wish the book had gone for a black comedy approach instead. The writing was fine...I just couldn't get into the story...at all. Kinda felt like one I've heard a million times before.

I really enjoyed this book. While the ending was quasi-predictable, the words flow true and easily. The characters are engaging and interesting (even the ones you hate). I especially like the way the book alternates between past and present. The flashbacks were well done and not too many in number. This is contemporary women's lit done right, in my opinion-a little fluff, with good writing and real emotion.

I wish the main character didn’t feel so passive. I think that’s what makes it so long to get into the story and feel like it actually has some sort of a pace.

This story isn't necessarily about revenge. It is about the hurt and drama that comes with divorce. Even though divorce hurts sometimes it is better.
The author is British and writes using British terms. It is a story that all can relate to. A New York Times Bestseller.
