This was a cute end to the series even if the ending felt a bit rushed. I liked this one better than Book 2 even though we got way less of Samuel. I feel like we spent a lot more time with the secondary characters but didn't get any ending for them like we did in Book 2, which is a shame. The first book will always be my favorite though, and probably one I'll return to when I need a good laugh.

The perfect ending to a great series, I wasn't expecting to tear up during the last few pages but here we are! This coincidentally has Christmas elements, so I can now say that I've read a Christmas book this season (even if it's also about demons and Hell).
I felt like The Infernals dragged a bit, but it was the opposite in this book. There was always something going on, which was made more evident by the multiple POVs. Funny, imaginative, snarky, and overall a great conclusion to the Samuel Johnson series.

I'm not gonna lie, the end of the Samuel Johnson series made me a bit weepy. Connolly reminds me a lot of Pratchett, and excels at creating these absolutely ridiculous characters that you don't even feel like you could possibly take seriously. And then you are crying about them.
Criminy that was fantastic! I really loved it, the story, the characters, the tone. SO funny and so very very FUN! I still wish I'd started at the beginning of the trilogy, but once I started this book I couldn't (wouldn't) stop.
I must needs seek out other (all) books by John Connolly. I love his style. I feel a need to immerse.
I giggled throughout the entire Hilary Mould chapter, just cackled with glee.
This isn't a review, is it? Oh, screw it. If you like fantasy and humor and, say, Christopher Moore, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, etc., you'll likely love this book.
I did. :)

If you haven't read John Connolly's Samuel Johnson books (Start with "The Gates", then "The Infernals" and coming October 22 "The Creeps"), you have just enough time to get the first two books in the series and devour them- tonight.
You will want to grab The Creeps tomorrow.
Smart, sassy, and with John's droll wit, along with the requisite spiders {John! I HATE the spiders! Why in every book?! URK!], spiders that John does so well, this is a must-read for smart tens and appreciative adults.
Absolutely hilarious! It had me in tears! The whole series was just incredibly silly, in the best way.
