This was very interesting for fans of the series as additional reading material and thoughts of the authors. I reduced the rating slightly as from the books title, I expected more of a deep dive into NYx than there was.

It was a nice compilation of essays but it wasn't what I was expecting..I was expected more from the authors of the series versus other authors weighing in. Definitely worth a gander if you enjoy mythology.

i only skimmed through this book because its a documentary style book about the series.. its basically like a commentary of a movie where they explain why the characters are named this or the reason they portrayed vampires this way.. its really boring for the most part. just my opinion.

It was interesting, and funny, too, with the writers escaping the rather strict formalism of the essay to express their beliefs.

An essay or two was interesting but most of this was bland and too academic. The stuff that was academic and bland was also not new information. Really the only part I found even somewhat interesting is the essay on tattoos.

I've been reading the House Of Night series since book 1. This book delves deep into the influences that are found in that series.
