Henry VIII what can I say other than even after being deceased for 500 years he still remains one of history's most interesting and controversial figures... great book written in an easy to read style.

A clear and well-sourced book on the background and early life (up to Anne Boleyn) of Henry VIII. The list of persons involved at the end, with mini biographies was a helpful touch for cross-referencing.

This doesn't differ from much else I've read. It's a cursory review of what happened from the time Henry was born to his interest in Anne Boleyn, so around the 1520s. I was looking forward to a deep analysis into Henry's youth -- like, birth to a little bit after he started his reign -- so this was disappointing. But, if you're not familiar and just want to read the history, definitely the book for you! I was looking for more from it, although it was a very easy to understand book that anyone could pick up.
