This book made me not afraid to read other such novelization of video games, and I will too read the other books written by the author. Stephanie Perry hoped we had as much fun to read this novel that she had to write it. Well I did. It is well done, loved the way she brought the monster's boss and the challenges in the game. It feels naturals. Just after this book, I am a fan of Perry.

The writing style was terrible. It was run on sentences, which ruined the action. I had no idea what was going on the entire time. The descriptions were useless, as I couldn't picture shit in this. And the characters were about as flat the paper they were written on. I had really high hopes for this, and it fell flat. I seriously doubt I'll continue with the series.

Writing style could be a bit tough for me personally in places (lots of long sentences, some bordering on run-ons), but overall a fun, quick read.

Standard Resident Evil content warnings apply, anything more severe than that is just brief mentions (see my notes if you're concerned!).

This isn't the sort of book I read for in-depth mental stimulation or anything. I read it because I love the games, because Rebecca and Billy are two of my favorite characters, and sometimes it's nice to have a fun, dark, easy read that I've read before when I don't want to focus too much. These books are a great addition to the games.

Taking place before the first Resident Evil game, Resident Evil: Zero Hour is a novelization of Resident Evil 0. This book shows what happened to Bravo Team and what exactly Rebecca Chambers was up to before ending up in Spencer Mansion. It switches between several viewpoints: Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, Albert Wesker, William Birkin, and the mysterious young man.

Just like the novelization of the first game, this story gives great explanations for why characters would be finding bits of notes that give explanation for what’s going on with the virus and why there are guns and ammo lying around. Same goes for the crazy layouts and the different locking mechanisms or puzzles on both the train and in the facility.

It was cool to read about how the virus affected a bunch of different animals. And as the scientists in the training facility used numerous animal test subjects, the main enemy Rebecca and Billy had to go against were these mutant infected animals. It was a great twist to the regular zombies of the first novelization.

Here is also the beginning of the ‘mutation’ where the arm can become whip like before being sucked back into the arm. I found myself intrigued with Marcus’s notes on his experiments with the t-Virus and his leeches.

The book leads right up to how Rebecca ends up at the mansion, with a cool little epilogue from the zombies’ point of view. I would highly recommend this book to any Resident Evil fan or anyone interested in the story of the games without having to play them. They’re action-packed and full of detail, you won’t be disappointed.

Resident evil zero hour, the last book in the resident evil book francise was simple amazing to read over the course of 2 days kept me on the edge of my seat all the the way through.
Now this book really did focus on resident evil 0 the game very much like detail upon detail with a few new details which made it even better and should of maybe of been added to the game.
I am going to miss the resident evil books but I still have the games to help me live through the books when a get round to reading them again.
