That settles it, it’s impossible for me to dislike a Sarah Gailey story. Would love for this one to be longer though, parts of it felt rushed!

This story is original and written well. It addresses some gender inequality issues in an interesting way. Even though it's very short, the characters are truly memorable. There is some disturbing and visceral body horror, made even more disturbing because of the lighthearted tone of the writing, which is pretty clever. I'm glad I read it, but it isn't really my kind of thing.

A cute little steampunk story. A man and his robot female companion (that doesn’t know she’s different) and the kitchen servant smart enough to work out how to use a situation to her advantage.

This is a really, really cool short story. With Victorian values, an android daughter, and some unfortunate misunderstandings, Gailey keeps you in a state of shock and wonderment. Exactly what does being a Lady's Maid entail? Certainly not everything that this short story makes you go through! It's a new take on how androids see their humans, and how humans see their androids, and we can expect Gailey to keep us guessing and vaguely frightened at every turn.

Although this was pretty creative, I just wasn't hooked. It was "okay" but not "great" in my opinion. Maybe it was the frame of mind I was in when I read it since it seems many others really enjoyed it. Maybe I'll give it another try later down the road.
