This account of local Sydney history is pretty cursory and outdated. But the illustrations are stunning and a useful reference considering how much the city landscape has further changed since the '60s when they were produced. It's a neat introduction to Sydney's first white people and places but expect to find the kind of intrinsically colonial and patriarchal values that were considered acceptable at the time and which so often still form the core of historical interpretation.
