I found the film to be better than the book. Not really anything wrong with it; it's amusing and has feeling. Just alright.

Characters were incredibly unlikeable and story was not engaging at all.

“I don't mean that life was great and I didn't want not to participate. I just mean there were always one or two things that seemed unfinished, things I wanted to follow through. […] And in the end I realized there would always be
something, and that those somethings would be enough.”
Endearing read with beautiful character development. Check trigger warnings before reading.

As an avid fan of the movie, reading this book brought out memories. And even though the first part was pretty interesting, the second part felt rushed and the ending a let down. It didn't give a solid climax to justify the characters' development. The writting, in addition, is light and fun, but it doesn't allow for a more in depth analysis of the situations. Also, the both POVs felt like reading about the same character, with no age difference.

I hated this at first. But the boy who quite obviously is autistic kept my attention. I expected more development of Will.

Very much enjoyed this, my first Nick Hornby book. It made me want to see the movie again, which I did, and which was very faithful to the book other than partially changing the ending.
