I was recommended this book by my brother, and I have to say, it was pretty good. I liked the characters a lot. But when my brother was reading it, he kept saying how the end was so good, and it was the best ending to a book he's ever read. So when I read the ending I was expecting some huge twist, or something really, really exciting to happen, but nothing did. It sort of just, ended. But it was still very good and I'd definitely recommend it as a fun, quick read.

This is a book I read as a kid. Honestly, I dunno that I was like....the peak target audience for it, as I wasn't much of a troublemaker. But I did have an interest in superpowers, so they got me there.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite childhood books. Having just reread it, I can confirm that I still enjoyed it a lot. Though by this point I knew all the major points of the book. Which has its pros and cons. It's fun to see the foreshadowing and know how it's all coming together, but sometimes you wish you could go back and read books without knowing what happened in them. But I think this book is one of those where being able to appreciate how the story all ties together in the end outweighs the weakened punches from knowing the twists that are coming.
This book is probably in my top 10 of all time. I still have to make that list, but it's probably on there. Super worth reading. And super worth giving to a kid to teach them some lessons about empathy and stuff.

This is a Young Adult (YA) novel I'd give to any kid or any adult who was a kid like I was - loner, lonely, outcast, etc. If you weren't popular or one of the bullies, you'll probably enjoy how these kids figure things out and manage to carve out improvements despite the many obstacles facing them.

I just learned there's a sequel that takes place a year later; I added it to my to-read list. :)

Frankly, I got bored. None of the characters were remotely interesting to me.

This is a funny book that also has many hidden messages along with the Talents that the kids have. This is a book for someone who loves reading about people with odd abilities. This book reminds me of that new tv show, Tower Prep. Also about teenagers thrown into a school because of their talents being misread and misinterpreted.

My all time favorite character from this book is Cheater, he is a telepathic kid who gets blamed for cheating because he can't control how and when he reads peoples minds so he ends up copying people's tests with out realizing it. This is how you figure out that everyone at the school has Hidden Talents, but the owners aren't there to help you with them, they're there to manipulate them. It is gruesome at times but it is also very good along with its sequel [b:True Talents|37234|True Talents|David Lubar|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51WUJA19vAL._SL75_.jpg|2955974] by [a:David Lubar|20936|David Lubar|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg].
