Hoo boy - Lucian and Olivia did not disappoint!! I’m so keen for more Kings of Hells Kitchen stories.
Age gap romances are not my favourite (especially when the women is barely legal), but the way they circled each other for years made it a bit easier to ship them. And Liv is very clearly strong minded and an instigator in the relationship. There’s a good amount of suspense in this romance which really helps the plot along - compared to some of the other Prescott books feeling much more low stakes and not quite so dependant on a plot setting the pace.

“Did I corrupt you, or were you always like this?”
“I’ve never been like this with anyone except you. You bring it out of me.”

Lucian, Lucian, Lucian.

It’s no secret that I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for the most elusive of the Prescott brothers’ stories. He’s been lurking on the periphery of each of this younger sibling’s novels, acting as both a protector and a cipher. And now, in Bad Intentions we finally unearth what Lucian Prescott is all about. We also discover the identity of the woman who brings him to his knees.

And it’s delectable.

Tara Wyatt punctuates the end of the The Prescotts series with an exclamation point. This novel has a different tone than the others in the series, and I liked how Wyatt delves into a darker, more morally complicated world, but also stays true to who she is as a storyteller. She also creates a world within a world, setting up a new series (about the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen) that I cannot wait to get my hands on.

It’s an ending point and a starting point, and I’m here for it.

An ARC was generously provided by the author. All opinions are my own.

This was my first book in the series but it worked as a standalone too. There were mentions of couples in the previous books but it was only a couple of scenes so I didn't feel left out.

This was a well written book with good pacing. It has a mafia subplot and usually I am not a fan of that trope but it worked okay in this book.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley.

Lucian's story was perfect for him and all of his dark and brooding wonder. The angst. The build-up. The release. Oh, the release!

I was excited to read Lucian's story. We've seen him in all the other books and he's always there to protect and take care of his family. This book was a little different from others in the series. Lucian has some involvement with the mob. I've always loved the bad boy and Lucian was no different. But there was something off with this part of the story that I didn't care for. I'm not exactly sure what it is though.

Olivia was ok for me. Maybe it was because there was such a huge difference in age that we were constantly reminded of. Or maybe it was the instant love between them that didn't really make sense because it was based on nothing more than just looks. It might've been because she was the first girlfriend of the brothers that we didn't see at all in the books. We had to do a past/present in this book to introduce her and I've never been a hug fan of that in books.

Lucian got his HEA though which makes me happy. He deserved it.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Lucian is one of those mysterious members of the Prescott family that you want to learn the story of since the very first book.

It feels right that this is an age-gap romance with a woman almost twenty years younger than him. It gives the forbidden vibe and coupled with an is-he-or-is-he-not-a-mobster makes it even more delicious.

It was a chef’s kiss kind of book!

Bad Intentions is the story of the fourth brother of the first group of Prescott brothers. We knew Lucian’s story would be a darker one from hints throughout the previous three books. I have to be honest that I am not a big fan of age gap romances where the main male character is 15 years or more older. But I found that it was handled well in this book. There is quite a bit of violence, so readers should be aware going in.

Olivia is a good character, confident and self-assured. This is a definite factor in the power balance in the relationship. It also made for some very steamy intimate encounters, which were well done.

While not my favorite of the series (that is still Snow Bound), Bad Intentions is an enjoyable and dramatic read.
