I liked this book better than the previous one. There was more action and more times that stopped my heart. I still enjoy seeing a different part of the world, and I've enjoyed the added personalities of different dragons to the party. I also liked seeing the different perspectives on how dragons and humans interact together.

This was so much better than the previous one. I really enjoyed this one, it was interesting to see yet another corner of this alternate Earth.

SpoilerThe sinking of the Allegiance and Riley's death was a bit of a welcome shock and change of pace.

Iskierka is such an annoying character that it almost ruins anything involving her for me.

I'm not sure if the author is a teetotaler, but damn this book is very anti-alcohol. I noticed this sentiment in previous books but it becomes really noticeable here. Oh and I had to stop reading at one point and look up the word "invert" so I learned something new!

This author continues to do a good job at what she's good at, but I really wish she'd make her endings a bit stronger. Even without a strong end, the book was a fun journey and adventure with both new and familiar characters. It was quite a fun read and helped me pass the time as I was sick.
