This was a hard one to rate. I liked aspects of it a lot. It was chalk full of medieval information, especially about nunneries. It had an intriguing premise. But it was also a little dull at parts. 

But I didn't like how it is described as an "alternative history" based on Queen Elizabeth I. It wasn't. At all. Or at least not enough to merit that sort of description.
