So, I wasn't a too big fan of the novel, but I was still interested in the story, so when I saw the GN I knew I had to give that one a shot. I mean it is drawn by Cassandra Jean who is an absolute GOD in drawing, so that also definitely was a reason to read this one. Haha. Some of the things in this GN I remembered, I got pretty far in the novel before I stopped reading. But it was just so much more fun to read it this way. More dynamic, less bland. The characters were fun. I love seeing Simon get accepted in the fold as well, despite being a mundane. I did think the romance/love between him and Isabelle was a bit fast, but I also found it cute, haha, conflicting!
I had fun seeing Clary find out more about her past (or at least try to do so).
There is ShadowHunter Lore, we get a glimpse at a very hot Magnus Bane (and I was squeeing in delight when he said that at the end of the part, YAS).
I really enjoyed this one and I am considering either just reading the whole GN series or also try one more shot at the novel.

Las ilustraciones son hermosas. Ya esto solo se merece las cinco estrellas, y no voy a negar que mi puntaje esta mayormente influenciado por los dibujos mas que por la historia. Cassandra Jean hizo un increĆble trabajo.

It was fine, I guess.

The art style, as per usua with Cassandra Jean, was great. I loved the extra scenes (like the sizzy one) and the gags in between chapters.

The story was wayyy too rushed tho and it kind of made no sense. But, eh, whatever.

I loved the artwork in this graphic novel. But it had only the boring parts of City of Bones. So I can't wait to read the next volume.

I really enjoyed this. I have followed Cassandra Jean's art for years, and when I saw this on kindle, I wanted to give it a try. I still love her art style, and, knowing the story already, this was a perfect combination. The visualization was great, the reading flow was easy and smooth and I had a wonderful time.
Now I really badly want to reread The Mortal Instruments (or rather reread part one to four and finally finish the rest of the series).

The pattern is sometimes confusing and I wish it were printed in colour, but all the rest was stunning and great. They left out a few really good lines, tho!

Only comprehended about 70% of the proper nouns but enjoyed 100% of the art!
