Oh my god this book built me up and then re-broke me.
One of my favourite reads to date, and this is coming from a former contemporary romance girly

The fantasy aspect was amazing, easy to understand world-building and just a great alternate universe overall The detail was so vivid in this book I felt like I was one of the characters but not so much to the point where it was overdone. I’m not going to lie on the first half it was giving a copy and paste of hunger games but the second half made up for that in more ways than one

The romance… I cannot even
This burn was SLOW which I enjoyed but let’s just say Lauren is on my rob list for a copy of reckless because how the hell am I going to survive until July?

First of all this is not an enemies to lovers considering the love interest we’re always cordial but it is forbidden love (even if one of them doesn’t know that :), and slow burn. The dial POV kept me ON MY TOES
While reading this book the screams I scrumpt and the gasps I gusped were PLENTY

Kai can have my heart, soul, left ankle, WHATEVER HE WANTS. God he was so understanding, respectful, and real when it comes to Pae and in general his character is just amazing. If a man ever feels about me the way Kai feels for paedyn I have won at life.

Speaking of pae oh my god I wish she was real so that I could give her the biggest hug because that woman is so unbelievably fucking smart and strong I was GAGGED at some of the decisions she has to make and things she has to do

Now as for both of them together
