I got this book for my birthday from a dear friend and I have been so excited to read it ever since I found out that it came out. I didn't really get the chance or made the time to do so until now and I do regret not reading it earlier. I love these two girls so incredibly much. I loved their banter from the start and watching them grow, together as well as individually, throughout the story. I am obsessed with the concept of a source, it was so interesting to read about Wren being a source and see what that meant for her magic.
What I'm going to describe next may be seen as a spoiler so I will blurr it out.

I love how Adrienne let these characters support each other through the hardships. When Wren learned about Tamsin's past she didn't turn away from her, she wanted to learn, wanted to know the truth so she could HELP her. When Tamsin thought Wren would either fear her or be disgusted by her, Wren stood right next to her. It was somewhat... refreshing to read that, rather than it being used to start drama between the characters and have them turn away from each other. How at the end Tamsin was worried about Wren rather than pissed off or turned away from her when something bad happened (you'll know when you read the book).

I keep reading YA despite the fact that I don’t like them very much. The writing tends to feel a bit juvenile and some moments can feel forced. But the storyline was interesting and I did like the characters.
