By turns confusing and enlightening, The Four Loves contains much that I do not understand. I will read it again when in a more charitable mood (wordplay!).

The Four Loves is an exploration of the four definitions of love in the Greek language, but from a Christian perspective. It’s really interesting and I agreed with a lot of it, however it’s very male-centred and heteronormative. I recommend this book because it’s interesting to explore the different meanings of love, especially as a romance reader and writer. I chose to read this book to help support my assignment where I will be exploring the meaning of love in literature, and I think it will definitely come in handy. ‘To love at all is to be vulnerable.’
