malice1865's review against another edition
Slow, long winded, boring. No get up and go. No solid storyline.

Loved this. Funny, painful, sad, shocking. This author writes internal monologues in a way I found profoundly relatable.
Moderate: Abortion and Miscarriage

By Sara Pascoe
I listened to the audio version of this book, and I must say I found it quite amusing!
Sophie is a young woman who moves from job to job just trying to make ends meet! At the moment, she works in a pub but has had numerous jobs working in dungeons covered in zombie face paint and on open top bus tours.
She has just about forgotten about Chris her infatuation, but then he walks into the pub! Duh! Rekindle the conquest!
We then get immersed in Sophies inner monologue, which is very harsh on herself but in a humorous way! I did feel sorry for Sophie as she was so sad, but I couldn't help but giggle at some of her anecdotes!
Her relationship with her mum is realistic in the sense that she loves her, but 'yeah, you can do one now'.
I love Sophies need for attention when she was younger, and the filofax memory was just the cutest thing!
I thought her relationship with her sister Danna was hilarious! You must listen to the audio version as Sara really tells it well with just the right tone!
It's her debut novel, and it's rather good!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!🤓
