I really enjoyed the descriptions of the heists and thought the family dynamics and tendency towards violence being passed down to each generation was thought-provoking.

I was blown away by this book. I really was thinking "it's a heist book" but it's a thousand times more than that.

Absolutely thrilling and emotional. Cosby is now a new favorite of mine.

I DNF’d this. The writing was very good and the characters really came to life, so my review is not really a slam against the author. But I have a real issue with characters that I love doing dumb things. And once Beauregard starting making poor decisions I just got too stressed out to enjoy it. Additionally, this is a pretty masculine book: cars, heists, beer, etc. I’m sure some men feel this way about books with strong female leads too, but there wasn’t much there I found interesting enough to keep going. Life is too short to read books that don’t bring me joy.

A short, violent, depressing trainwreck. Having read Mr. Cosby's two newer books, it was nice to see the evolution. I will admit I like the newer books better but this was still a strong read.
