Interesting tale. Lots to keep track if in the story though... and the character says them out loud quite a bit to keep you on track... or to confuse you? Hard to tell, haha.

Characters not engaging. Too much description of outfits and decor. Unlikely to read any other Death on Demand books.

Really, I only keep reading these books because I always have and I enjoy coming back to characters I've known for years. There's nothing special about this book in particular that would give a reason to jump in mid series. In fact, it's the opposite - these books seem played out.
2.5 stars with a round up because the author gave me exactly what I expected. She doesn't promise more, so no need to be annoyed I didn't get it.

Maybe it's because I didn't read the first 23, but I found the book overloaded with characters thrown at you in chapter one and no real subtlety in plot development.

3.5 stars. Another excellent read for the Death on Demand series, although it felt like a LOT more introspection was included in this one; lots of suspect lists, summation, etc. Still, the mystery was very well plotted and the murderer was a mystery right until the end. Looking forward to #25!
