This book covers various aspects of misogyny and rape culture and the ways that boys are largely taught to become at best passive or at worst violent men. I recommend all men and teenage boys to read it. For women, it may be a lot that you already know but just in great, grim detail, depending on how much feminist writing you've read already. Although I vaguely knew or at least wasn't surprised by most of the content, it provided me with some new ways of conceptualising the issues, which might help me when having discussions about these topics in future.
Graphic: Rape, Sexual assault, Sexism, Violence, Sexual violence, and Misogyny
Moderate: Gun violence, Pedophilia, Murder, and Mass/school shootings
Minor: Kidnapping, Suicide attempt, Ableism, and Injury/Injury detail
This novel is all about various manifestations of misogyny so there are many content warnings. Ford writes in a sensitive but still frank way.
