This book is missing the dynamic between the four ladies. Yuki and Claire are barely featured and Cindy only has a minor role.

Such a shame as the group interactions were what made the Women's Murder Club series different from the normal James Patterson thriller.

This was one of the best ones in awhile. Lots of intrigue. Made me want to pick up #16 immediately!

Finishing this book is bitter sweet. Now that I have finished it I have to wait for number 16! Does anyone know when that is coming out???? I know I know this one just came out. I dislike waiting for books !!

I've read all 15 books in this series by now, and from the more recent, double digited additions, this has to be the best. It still has its issues, but I highly preferred the mystery and how personal the story was.

However, it still has the same issue as all the others, the chapters are short. Short chapters are completely fine sometimes, and not so much others. They introduce great cliffhangers, but there's too many of them. So in a narrative arc, there's like 100 instances of cause and effect along the rising action. It never allowed for the development of characters or story and again opts to down that out with action and nonstop suspense.

Obviously a quick read, read it in basically one day, but there's no sustenance. At least the mystery is inviting and you do want to ultimately know what's up, which makes for a decent read... it's just not exemplary .

Overall, a good solid read, but it certainly has it's flaws; I'd give it ideally a 3.5 out of 5. In terms of a mystery, Patterson still has the ability to captivate his reader and keep the pace moving at per usual. Where this book seems to fall short is the premise that it's the continuation of the series we (as readers) have come to want or accept for a WMC novel. There has been a steady decline in the cohesive bond the women have with each other and even less involvement of the four collaborating to solve a crime. We get minimum details from Claire, Cindy, or Yuki throughout this novel. Instead, it becomes obsessed with the questionable behavior of Lindsay's husband (Joe) and her ability to allow the woman across the hall spend more motherly time with Julie than she (Lindsay) does.
