This is one of my favourite nature books. I read it in just over 24 hours because I couldn't put it down; it dragged me in, transported me to Ardnamurchan, and fed me lots of wonderful wildlife experiences. We flit between the author's wildlife watching experiences, and learning about the Humphreys. Chris and Les Humphreys have a garden teeming with wildlife. As you may have guessed from the title, the stars of the show are the pine martens. The Humphreys have recorded what goes on in their garden in such detail you easily get a feel for each individual marten. Perfect read if you want a nice nature read to sink into, and finish it feeling inspired to get out and explore nature.
