A story about an ordinary girl's life. This book is very funny and entertaining, written by one of my favourite authors. I read this book when I was 7.
I am currently reading the Greek edition (ISBN 960-16-2105-9).

Elena, age 8.

Clarice's favorite word is "utterly," she is certainly not the teacher's pet, and she loves mystery novel heroine Ruby Redfort. Cute, spunky kid and Rand cracked up when he saw the cover, wanting me to read it to him.

2-4th grade.

Cute, entertaining read. The prose sounds like an actual child’s and Clarice feels so real and relatable. Would recommend to kids!

Such a fun, quirky, laugh-out-loud middle grade read. I have very fond memories of reading this with my mom and sister when I was younger, and I highly recommend it as a read-aloud family book.

Clarice Bean and her best friend, Betty Moody, are obsessed with a series of books about an eleven year old detective called Ruby Redfort.  But when the silver cup for the school's 'Best Book Exhibit' competition goes missing, they have a mystery of their own to solve.

Sometimes it's nice to read a children's book.  My daughters grew up with the Clarice Bean books and still re-read them now and again, so as I'm in between books at the moment, I thought I would see what I thought.

I love the quirky diary-type writing style.  The plentiful illustrations and the different sized text and different fonts fill the pages with a wonderful zany energy.  I can see why these books are popular with children who are just getting used to reading longer books.  Clarice Bean's world is something most kids will relate to - annoying siblings, bossy teachers, weird classmates, boring school work, etc. Her musings are very funny.

A cute, fun little book.  I really enjoyed it.

A cute, diary-style book about a little girl named Clarice Bean Tuesday. That's really her name.

Absolutely clever book that is perfect for elementary-age readers transitioning to longer books. Also good for Wimpy Kid fans who are looking with a story with creative line drawings.
