This is probably one of my favorite Christmas romance novel to date. Dr. Erika Sheraton is at a cross roads in her life, not knowing fully what she wants and how to obtain whatever that may be. Top surgeon in Anchorage, Erika is forced to take a vacation, trading in her scrubs and workaholic ways for a winter coat and ski suit in the small town of Wild River, Alaska where she visits her friend Cassie and counts the days until she can reunite with her job. But what she doesn’t count on is running into her childhood friend and first love, Reed—Cassie’s brother. Through the snow, scenery, and quiet moments, Erika finds herself enjoying life, rekindling friendships and lost loves, and finding what is truly important for her.

Okay I absolutely loved this story. It was exactly what I was looking for to snuggle in during the Christmas season and dive into while the temperatures outside drops. Though the beginning took some time to envelope you, Snow has a way of pulling you into the story with her crisp descriptions and fast pace scenes that were cranked up several degrees when read while listening to the audiobook.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Erika and Reed both together and individually. The chemistry between the two was something dynamic and deep; not to mention the sexual tension is a1 steak sauce.

All in all, this was a nice romantic winter-set read that I wouldn’t mind reading again during the winter months. If you are looking for a search and rescue romance set in the brisk outbacks of Alaska, I highly recommend you give the Wild River series a try!

Alaskan Christmas | Jennifer Snow
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The debut novel to the Wild River Series, An Alaskan Christmas provides Grey's Anatomy meets Alaska vibes. Another show stopper in the Wild River Series. The town is tight and the characters are endearing. There were a few places when the plot could have been filled in a little, but overall it was a great read.

Read if you love: Alaska, romance series

Did not finish. Half way through the book and nothing kept me engaged in the story.

Not Christmas, and not a good enough plot for the smut. I couldn’t get on board with the narrator either, which definitively didn’t help.

I don’t read what books are about before reading but should have checked the publisher. This was the smuttiest of smut. Blech. The plot was so watered down and the most unbelievable character “development.” The plot was so far out from reality there is no way anyone can believe this is actually how people fall in love. I read it to meet a challenge prompt. But goodness me this was painful to get through.

Adored the setting and the cast of characters ~ I’m so excited that I came to this one a bit late so I can devour the whole series immediately! Oh, and this is a steamy one ~ just a heads up if that’s not your thing.

I just have one tiny issue with the book - this is NOT a Christmas story. It’s barely even Christmas-adjacent. Maybe the title should have been “An Alaskan Rescue”? “An Alaskan Holiday”? “An Alaskan Winter?” “An Alaskan Vacation?” “An Alaskan Small Town Sex Romp”? If you’re looking for a steamy adventure-packed romance - this was amazing. If you’re looking for Christmas you’ll be disappointed.
