DNF at 16%.

This alternates chapters between the ex-con PI with powers, and the young woman who's been accepted into the adult super team. He lives on the ruined side of the city, she lives in the protected side. His part was fine so far. Hers... At one point, she 'rockets through the sound barrier' over homes, which is irresponsible.

DNF at 16%, when the girl is cheerfully objectified and accepts it despite serious reservations.

NO. Never ever, I hate it, NO.

A bit different world-building than the common superhero novel. All the tropes are in, alien, supervillains, alternate timelines, but they are treated with in such relaxed casual way that they all fit together. The absurd humor that follows of it is never forced or made front stage, instead it becomes a colorful fond for the story. Again the plot is following a standard pattern, but written in a way that makes it feel fresh and interesting. The plot has enough twists and turns and surprises sprung to be interesting, predictable as it is.
It sells it self as a noir superhero, but I want to add space-opera to it as the world building keeps my brain to conjure Mos Eisley all the time.
