What an amazing collection of stories. Anthologies are a great way to introduce readers to new authors and for those that are already fans get an extra treat with a short story. Each author brings their all with their story.
Each story is intense and suspenseful, yet sexy and romantic.
Against the Heart -Kat Martin
This may be my favorite of the three stories. A single mom on the run with her daughter and A son trying to help his father put his life back together. This one is sweet and tender, it hits the heart just right.
Shaken - Rebecca Zanetti
Whether it be a full length novel or a novella Ms. Zanetti knows how to catch the reader's attention. Evan and Michelle rocked the pages hard. I love that they had a past and that made their chemistry so much more. Shaken in my opinion, was the hottest of the three stories.
Echoes of the Past - Alexandra Ivy
Ms. Ivy focuses a little more on the suspense and a little less on the romance. However she still gives us an intriguing and adventurous story.
Although each story does tie in with one another you do not have to read all of them to be able to enjoy them. However I highly recommend that you do as they do complete a story that is highly enjoyable.

Amazing, diverse, exciting stories. I loved all three of these Novellas. Although they are separate stories, they all have a connection to one another. I read the Brodies of Alaska, by Kat Martin, quite a few years ago, but loved getting back into the feel of those books with story of Meri and Ian. The second story involves a friend of Meri's, Michelle and a former beau, Evan. This one is by Rebecca Zanetti and brings in some of her characters from her Deep Ops series. I love that it shows a completely different side of those men and the suspense and action of Rebecca's other books. The third novella is about Melanie and Gray and ties back into events in the first novella, but is still very unique. All three have awesome suspense and great chemistry between the lead characters. You do not need to have read the other series some of the authors have written to able to fully enjoy these stories. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves these authors or wants a great introduction to their work.

What better way to bring three fabulous authors together in one book than by creating three distinct storylines that interconnect and share plots and characters. Between all three heroines Meri, Michelle and Melanie the reader is taken on a short but wild ride with the woman and the men that save them from harm. Not only does the reader get fast paced action but heartwarming tales of love and honor. A perfect combination wrapped up in one package.

Why would you have 1 boring heteronormative relationship in a book when you can have 3? 3.5h

This is an interesting compilation of connected characters across three prolific authors.
Against The Heart by Kat Martin
She's trying to make a better life for her daughter. First step get away from the deadbeat that was a one night stand and only comes around when he's trying to shake Meri down for money. Second step, find a way to make money to continue the escape plan. Third step, fall for Ian, he'll protect you.
Shaken by Rebecca Zanetti
Michelle has the worst luck, starting with her mother whose drug addition forced her into foster care. The only good thing that came out of that was seeing connections with her fellow neglected kids. And when things get dangerous she knows she can call in them, but she doesn't expect Evan to be her rescuer. Now as they try to resolve the situation the past hurts are surfacing and it's time to decide if forgiveness is possible. Can Michelle trust Evan not to hurt her again?
Echoes of the Past by Alexandra Ivy
Detective Gray Hawkins is back in Seattle a place he didn't think he'd returned after he left two years ago. But when rumors of corruption in the police force service surface he's the perfect one to dig in. Melanie Cassidy is a huge advocate for the kids she works with she just didn't expect to stop kidnappers from taking one of them. And the unexpected rescuer of Gray was definitely a twist. Now they have to work together to find out who is threatening the kid and uncover the corruption.

EDIT for the other two short-stories

As I received this book for my birthday, I reread Rebecca Zanetti's short story and this time I also read the other two short stories =)
If Zanetti's short story remains my favorite, I also liked Kat Martin's (I love romances with single parents and I really liked all the tension with the drugged ex boyfriend etc) and a little less the one by Alexandra Ivy (the plot was interesting but I did not get too hooked on the couple ... It was a second chance romance and I found that the heroine too easily gave the hero a second chance ( who still abandoned her years ago because of an ex-fiancée story who ran away with his brother ...))

In short, I will probably try the adventures of the other Brodie =)

Only Shaken by Rebecca Zanetti

I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T KNOW THIS SHORT-STORY EXISTED BEFORE !!
I as a huge fan of the series Deep Ops (MUST READ !!), I was delighted to discover that there was a short-story on Michelle and Evan, two childhood friends of Raider !! And I loved it and devoured it =D
The intrigue was great, the romance perfect (I have a weakness for second chances <3) and above all I loved the characters (Michelle the comic book designer who had a difficult childhood, Evan the ex military man and first love from childhood and of course Wolfe <3)
In short, if you like the Deep Ops series, it's an absolute Must Read and if you don't know the series, it's okay, it will make you discover a great series =D

PS: special mention for the meeting with three characters from the Dark Protectors series (I didn't know I needed a Wolfe / Mercy romance until this scene xD)

This is a collection of three shorter stories by three amazing authors. The three stories are connected to each other by using the same characters in each one in some way.

Against the Heart is the first one by Kat Martin. What I liked about this one was the human connection angle. This story was more than just Ian and Meri meeting and falling in love, but also about Ian’s father, Daniel, finding his way back to life after his wife’s passing.

Shaken by Rebecca Zanetti is the second book. I loved this one the most for the romance and the relationship development between Michelle and Evan. They fell in love as teenagers when they were in the same foster home for a short period of time. The fell apart because Evan was in the military and Michelle had a hard time dealing with the dangerous aspects of his career. And Evan showed no signs of ever leaving. Now Evan is a small-town sheriff and has every intention of winning Michelle back. And there was plenty of action.

Echoes of the Past by Alexandra Ivy is the third book. This one came out on top in terms of action and excitement. I enjoyed the journey of reconnection between Melanie and Gray as well. This story was pretty fast-paced and offered plenty of thrills.

The styles of the three authors worked well together to make this entire book very enjoyable.

I received an advanced copy of the book from Netgalley to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Pivot tells the stories of three women with interconnected lives. Each story is fun, thrilling and a great introduction for anyone wanting to get into the romantic suspense genre.

Two of the three authors are new-to-me and are now on my 'I need to read more!' lists. I've previously read (and loved) Rebecca Zanetti so I knew immediately I would enjoy her story but I hadn't read anything by Kat Martin or Alexandra Ivy before. I was pleasantly surprised by how great their storytelling abilities were and really enjoyed each of the novellas.

All three authors created stories that truly interwove with each other and I hope they write more together in future. Each story may have been short (all three are novellas) but they all felt like complete and thorough stories with complex, well-developed characters. My only wish was that they were longer because I enjoyed them so much and didn't want them to end!

Overall I would recommend Pivot to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense or wants to try out the genre! It was fantastic and I look forward to reading more by all three authors in future.
