I enjoyed Real Americans, again with the relatability on race, the need to conform, and some science! I do wish, though, I got to know more of some characters, like Ping. I think this book could have been much longer and still solid if we learned more of the history of the recurring characters whose character development unfortunately was minimal.Nick calling in his dad to shut down his research also didn’t make sense to me. It felt like an oversimplified “we solved eugenics” take.

I wanted to DNF then i got into it then the last quarter was a slug for me to get through. Totally get why the story had to be told but I found it boring and then I just didn't care about any of the characters anymore.
