This book didn’t contain nearly as much action as the title suggested. It was very tired, reading through the author wax quixotic about her self-doubt and Christian views. If you believe in God, then maybe you’ll enjoy that aspect, but I found it extremely hard to relate to, I’m addition to being annoyed that book lacked a bit of substance.

Audio read by the author (a good CIA Officer and security person, but not a professional reader) - as fascinating as I found her journey from homecoming queen to the CIA, it was her story of faith and what comes after the CIA that captivated me.

My initial draw to this book was for the CIA stuff because I glamorize operative life in my head thanks to Hollywood. But what I got was so much more. A story of faith, God's provision and a purpose larger than we realize sometimes. An incredible story of a woman whose faith moved moutains. Largely set in the Middle East, we don't realize how good we have it in America. A powerful memoir that will have you appreciating your freedoms in a fresh way.

Have you ever imagined what Rachel Hollis might write if she had been in the CIA? Well just read this book to find out. This is the most boring book about the CIA ever to exist. The writing is very simplistic, with every chapter ending like ‘and that’s why I’m glad I trusted gods plan for my life’.

The Jesus chat gets stronger with each chapter. The author seems to only be concerned with persecution of Christians, while also trying to paint herself as a grand humanitarian.

When we are seeking God and trying to align ourselves with His will, we will occasionally miss the boat. We are human beings. We do this. But God doesn’t give us one chance to get it right. He will do whatever is necessary to get us back on track. -27

No one will respect you if you don’t stand up for your own interests. -36

This book was incredible. I picked it up on a whim from the library, and read it all within one day. It started as one thing- an “inside” look at the CIA, and in the end, wowed me with Michele’s faith and overwhelming belief in God. Truly amazing.
